The beautiful Upper French River and Lake Nipissing watershed…what more needs to be said? The Upper French River is the ultimate display of what Ontario, Canada has to offer to outdoors enthusiasts. It combines unspoiled wilderness, with stunning scenery, a massive river and a wide variety of wildlife.

Chaudiere Lodge

Chaudiere Lodge is located on an island in Ontario's legendary Upper French River, it is open from the third Saturday in May to the third Saturday in October. Just 4 1/2 hours north of Toronto, this five star resort is truly one of the closest near north experiences available to the GTA. The Upper French River and Lake Nipissing offer Chaudière’s guests two very different experiences. The French is sheltered providing countless bays, narrows, islands and inlets perfect for canoeing, photography and fishing. Nipissing and the mouth of the French offer an extremely large body of water where the fishing is excellent when the weather permits it. But no matter what the weather throws our way, it is always possible to get out on the water from Chaudiere.

The Upper French River and Lake Nipissing produce trophy fishing throughout the season and is one of the largest and most exciting water sheds to fish in Ontario. It holds world record Muskie, Walleye second to none, Large and Smallmouth Bass and huge Northern Pike. This lake and river system occupies over 900 square kilometers and yields numerous musky over 50” and 50 pounds per year, making it one of the fastest growing Musky hot spots in North America. It now boasts an official live release World Record Muskie caught by Kevin Davison on October 6th 2006. There really are few places where you know that a world record lives and this is one of them.

Chaudiere Lodge is a 17 acre five star resort with 14 Cottages spread over ½ a mile of water front. The Main Lodge houses a Dining Room, professionally-equipped commercial kitchen and lounge where guitars hang on the wall waiting to be played along with couple of telescopes ready to look into a night sky free of light pollution and full of the northern lights, if we are lucky. We can only entertain a maximum of 44 guests at a time so take that step and book your adventure today and make memories for the rest of your life.

Chaudiere Lodge established in 1905 shares a great history on the French River and because of the rugged nature of the Canadian Shield country surrounding this river, large parts of it remain relatively untouched and it is now a popular location for recreational canoeing kayaking photography and fishing. In 1986 it was proudly, the first river designated as a Canadian Heritage River insuring that this unique ecosystem will be protected for generations to come.

Come to Chaudiere Lodge where you can experience world class fishing, canoeing, kayaking and photography and much more. Located in one of the most dynamic ecosystems the North has to offer, whether you come to relax with the family or party with friends, our guarantee to you is this; you will leave with new friends, unforgettable memories and an addiction that only a return trip will quench.
